Sources tell The Wall Street Journal that cable giant Comcast is in talks to buy DreamWorks Animation for more than $3 billion.

The company currently has a $2.3 billion market value. Comcast owns Universal Pictures, and if this deal goes through, it's likely DreamWorks, the studio behind animated hits like Kung Fu Panda and Shrek, would merge with Universal. Universal's animation business, Illumination Entertainment, makes the Despicable Me movies.
