Donald Trump called The New York Times 'the Failing New York Times' in an interview with The New York Times

If Donald Trump is going to lower his standards to talk to the "failing" New York Times, well, he's going to do it on his terms.
In an interview with The New York Times Magazine writer Mark Leibovich, Trump specifically requested that Leibovich not only refer to the paper as "failing," but also that he describe The Gray Lady as "one of the most dishonest newspapers anywhere in the world." Leibovich notes that Trump did not, however, specify whether The Times Magazine was also failing, or whether this rampant failure was limited strictly to the newspaper product.
You can read Leibovich's full piece, which was about — what else? — how Trump comes up with his signature disparaging nicknames, here.
