Donald and Melania Trump stayed at a Holiday Inn in Iowa

Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, were definitely not puttin' on the Ritz when they made a campaign stop in Des Moines, Iowa, earlier this election season — after all, unfortunately for the billionaires, there are no Ritz-Carltons in the Hawkeye State.
No matter. The Trumps — who are worth a self-proclaimed $10 billion thanks in part to Mr. Trump's luxury hotel empire — reportedly stayed in a Holiday Inn while they were in town, Melania revealed in a recent interview with DuJour:
Melania traveled to Iowa with Donald earlier this year. Where did you stay? Who did you talk to? "It was kind of a fun experience," she says. "We stayed in a hotel. It was clean. It was, I think, a Holiday Inn. You do it in a fun way. My husband knows me and how I am. I like beautiful stuff. I live the life. It's funny when we go and travel. They don't have five-star hotels there, but you go with it. It was a great experience in Iowa, because we went to an Evangelical church on Sunday. The church we got married in is very different. In Iowa there was a band, there was singing. It was very different, but it was a great experience. Being on the campaign trail and traveling around the country is hard work." [DuJour]
As "it was clean" is not exactly a rave review of a hotel — in fact, it seems like just about the bare minimum requirement — the mystery behind why Trump flies back to New York every night might finally be solved.
