On Monday, Hillary Clinton stressed the importance of unity and tolerance in the aftermath of the Sunday morning shooting at the Orlando nightclub Pulse, which left 49 victims dead. Tackling the problem of "radical Islam," Clinton said during a Monday interview with MSNBC's Morning Joe, does not mean declaring war on the faith as a whole. "We cannot demonize, demagogue, and declare war on an entire religion," Clinton said. "Hate is not the answer to hate."

Rather than succumbing to "partisanship" and the politics of the general election, Clinton stressed that now is the "time for statesmanship." "This is a moment for Republicans, Democrats, and independents to work together as one team: the American team," Clinton said.
