Florida's GOP governor won't endorse Marco Rubio's Florida Senate run

Sen. Marco Rubio's (R-Fla.) re-election campaign isn't off to the best start. On Thursday — just a day after the Florida senator announced he'd be running for re-election after months of swearing he was done with the Senate — Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) announced that he would not support Rubio. "The opinions of the political class in Washington are not relevant to the voters of Florida," Scott said, essentially removing himself from the conversation. "Florida Republicans will pick the nominee on their own."
Scott did, however, give GOP Senate candidate Carlos Beruff some heavy praise. "Carlos Beruff is a good friend of mine, a businessman, and an outsider to politics," Scott said in a Facebook post. "The voters of Florida deserve the opportunity to consider his candidacy alongside Senator Rubio and make their own decision."
