In an effort to "drain the swamp" in Washington, Donald Trump vowed Tuesday that if he were in the White House, he would attempt to create term limits for all members of Congress. "If I'm elected president, I will push for a constitutional amendment to impose term limits on all members of Congress,” Trump said at his rally in Colorado. "They've been talking about that for years. Decades of failure in Washington and decades of special interest dealing must and will come to an end."
Many experts are critical of the likelihood Trump's goal would actually come to fruition. "Would have to get two-thirds of [the] House and Senate to agree to effectively retire themselves and states," The Hill's Pete Schroeder pointed out on Twitter. "Heavy lift."
