Donald Trump's campaign has filed a lawsuit against Joe P. Gloria, the registrar of voters in Clark County, Nevada, on the grounds that Las Vegas area voters were allowed to continue casting their ballots "two hours beyond the designated closing time."
The lawsuit alleges Gloria made the decision to permit after-hours voting, but the county government says it did not extend voting hours at any polling places. Rather, voters who were in line by the time polls closed were permitted to vote, as is standard practice.
Though the campaign casts the lawsuit as a fight for law and order, Trump's own rhetoric indicates it may be the campaign's first of many attempts to ensure a Trump victory in a tight race. "It's being reported that certain key Democratic polling locations in Clark County were kept open for hours and hours beyond closing time to bus and bring Democratic voters in," Trump said while speaking in Reno, Nevada, on Saturday. "Folks, it's a rigged system. It's a rigged system and we're going to beat it. We're going to beat it."
