No, George W. Bush did not vote for Hillary Clinton
George W. Bush communications director Freddy Ford put the rumors to rest Tuesday that the former Republican president cast his ballot for Hillary Clinton. Ford came out and cleared the air after conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh claimed on air Tuesday that both Bush and his wife, former first lady Laura Bush, were with her. "Rush Limbaugh is wrong and needs to apologize to his listeners," Ford said. He said the couple "voted two weeks ago" and "did not vote for Hillary Clinton."
However, Bush didn't vote for Donald Trump either, Ford said. Though Ford declined to say who the former president and former first lady had voted for, reports suggested they both "left the presidential line empty" on their ballots and voted for Republican candidates down the ballot.
Bush, his father, former President George H.W. Bush, and his brother, former Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush, have all shied away from supporting their party's 2016 nominee. The verdict is still out on whether George H.W. voted for Clinton.
