Senate Democrats boycott confirmation votes for Price, Mnuchin

Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee are reportedly boycotting the confirmation votes for President Trump's health secretary nominee, Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), and his treasury secretary nominee, Steven Mnuchin. The votes were slated for 10 a.m. Tuesday, but at that time only Republicans on the Senate committee had shown up. While Republicans sat inside, Democrats were huddled outside the hearing room to "outline their gripes with the selections," The Hill reported.
Finance Committee Chairman Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said he would try to hold a vote later Tuesday. "I can't understand why senators, who know we're going to have these two people go through, can't support the committee," Hatch said. He added that he was "very disappointed in this kind of crap," which he said was in part "because they just don't like the president."
