Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly

The Megyn Kelly backlash reportedly has NBC in 'crisis' mode

The controversy over Megyn Kelly's decision to interview Sandy Hook denier and Infowars founder Alex Jones has reached the inside of 30 Rock, where Page Six reports NBC is holding "crisis meetings about how to handle the backlash."

The New York Post's famous gossip section, which Mediaite describes as having "a pretty good history of getting things right," quoted NBC insiders who say the whole situation is "a s—t show. No one wants to withstand a whole week of criticism over this. There are a number of people who want to pull the interview."

Kelly has responded to the criticism, claiming her interview, which would air next Sunday, was done in the interest of learning "how does Jones, who traffics in these outrageous conspiracy theories, have the respect of the president of the United States and a growing audience of millions?" She added that she finds his theories "as personally revolting as every other rational person does."

For the time being, though, an NBC insider told Page Six "there's been a lot of confusion, but as of now, they are not pulling the interview."
