Democrats reacted with horror to news that their Republican colleagues had been fired upon during practice for the annual congressional baseball game. Nevada Rep. Ruben J. Kihuen shared a photo of House Democrats bowing their heads in prayer:
Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) added on Twitter: "No partisan politics over this. Let's come together against evil. United by our common decency."
