In taunting tweet, Trump labels Russia investigation 'sad' for not being 'able to show any proof'

President Trump once again took to Twitter on Friday morning to complain about the Russia investigation even as White House aides have fretted to Politico that "the greatest threat to Trump and his presidency ... comes from his own conduct and obsessive behavior after he took office."

Trump's advisers have reportedly scrambled to try to talk the president out of firing Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading the Russia probe. Experts say Mueller's probe could take years to complete.

"You may be the first president in history to go down because you can't stop inappropriately talking about an investigation that, if you just were quiet, would clear you," claimed Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).
