White House attorney Ty Cobb issued a statement Friday dismissing reports that Michael Flynn's reported plea deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller means investigators are closing in on senior administration officials. "The false statements involved mirror the false statements to White House officials which resulted in [Flynn's] resignation in February of this year," Cobb claimed.

Flynn is accused of "willfully" making false statements to the FBI. The former national security adviser resigned less than a month after President Trump's inauguration for lying about his contacts with Russian officials.
