Kevin Durant is not an $88 player — he's a $3 million one.

On Thursday, the University of Texas announced that Durant, a former Longhorn who now stars at forward with the Golden State Warriors, had donated $3 million to the university to fund repairs to its basketball facilities. The sum is the largest gift by any Texas basketball alum, the school said, as well as "among the largest gifts ever by any professional athlete to his alma mater."

A full $2.5 million of the funds will go toward Texas Basketball, while $500,000 will be granted to Texas' Center for Sports Leadership and Innovation. During the 2006-2007 basketball season — his lone year at Texas — Durant averaged nearly 26 points and 11 rebounds per game.
