In today's installment of Football Players Who Suddenly Decide They Want to Play Major League Baseball, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson wore a New York Yankees uniform and swung at a baseball in a real spring training game, ESPN reports.
The Yankees previous claimed Wilson would not play in a spring training game, so he made a somewhat surprise appearance in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he was tapped to pinch-hit for reigning American League Rookie of the Year Aaron Judge. Facing off against Atlanta Braves left-handed pitcher Max Fried, Wilson ran up a 2-2 count before striking out in his first game since he was with the Colorado Rockies in 2011.
Hey, not everyone can be Tim Tebow. Wilson returns to NFL offseason training Sunday.
