Trump not-so-subtly suggests the bomb scare is a political gambit to hurt the GOP

Suspected explosives have reached former government officials, liberal donors, and other Democrats over the past few days, but President Trump thinks they've victimized someone else entirely — the GOP.
In a Friday tweet, Trump said Republicans had been "doing so well in early voting, and at the polls" as the midterm elections approach. But now, all this "'bomb' stuff" has taken over the news and ruined all that "momentum," he said.
Trump's first Twitter acknowledgement that bombs were sent to Hillary Clinton and others was simply a retweet of Vice President Mike Pence's condemnation of violence. He's since pivoted to criticizing CNN, which was mailed two of the suspicious packages, while White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders accused the network of blaming Trump for the violence. Trump supporters were also happy to chant "lock her up" at a rally on Wednesday, the same day the Secret Service intercepted an explosive device mailed to the Clintons.
