President Trump says he's not the only chief executive who wants a wall.
On the 13th day of the government shutdown, top Democrats, Republicans, and Trump met to discuss the president's ongoing demands for a border wall. Trump spoke in the Rose Garden afterward, declaring that border wall construction "should've been done by all of the presidents that preceded me." "They all know it," Trump continued, saying "some of them told me" so.
Trump didn't specify which past presidents told him they wish they'd built a wall. He instead spent much of the rest of conference spinning on what the wall would be made of, suggesting it could be see-through, and saying the government could be shut down for "years" if it wasn't built soon.
