Kevin Hart really keeps digging into his hole
Kevin Hart's response to his Oscars controversy just keeps getting worse and worse.
His latest occurred in a defensive interview with Good Morning America that took place Wednesday, in which host Michael Strahan asked the comedian some questions about the old homophobic jokes and tweets that caused him to step down as host of the Oscars. Strahan wasn't particularly combative about it, but Hart repeatedly refused to engage, saying no fewer than 10 times that he will never talk about the situation again.
When asked, for example, if he has an understanding of why his jokes might have affected LGBTQ youth, Hart just went back to his talking points. "I have an understanding that I've addressed it, and I've said everything that I can possibly say, so I'm over it," he said. He also dodged a question about how his views have changed over time. Hart, who refused to apologize for his past jokes when the Academy asked him to but did offer an apology after stepping down, also told Strahan, "I'm a good person, I love to love. If you don't see that, then that means that it's a problem with you."

Hart was clearly annoyed to be talking about the issue at all, saying he'd "understand" why people would be upset if he didn't address the jokes years ago. Nobody has been able to find evidence of old apologies, though, only uncovering clips in which Hart, for example, says he wouldn't make the same jokes today simply because people are too sensitive.
Hart on Wednesday also ruled out a return as Oscars host, an idea that had been floated by Ellen DeGeneres last week. He said he wouldn't have time to prepare but didn't rule out a return in the future. Watch the tense interview below. Brendan Morrow
