Kamala Harris wants to rebut Trump's State of the Union before it even happens
Democrats really don't want President Trump to have the last word — or the first.
Last week, Democrats announced they'd chosen former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams to deliver their rebuttal to Trump's State of the Union address on Tuesday. After that, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will deliver his unsolicited response, and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) will deliver one before the event even starts.
After a delay, a government shutdown, and a petty back-and-forth, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) set a day for Trump to deliver his annual speech to Congress. Abrams will join a sea of women and other statement-makers in the audience, and then become the first person to rebut a State of the Union without holding political office.

Sanders on Monday said he's "looking forward" to hearing Abrams speak, but then revealed he'll appear on Facebook Live, Twitter, and YouTube for his own response. He's delivered a post-State of the Union every year of Trump's presidency. And if that wasn't enough, tune in to Facebook Live before the speech to see Harris "push back in the president's expected message of division," she said in a Tuesday release.
In other last-minute rebuttals, Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) is seemingly trying to counter his alleged support of white supremacy by inviting one half of the YouTube team Diamond and Silk, who often defend Trump and other GOP members against claims of racism. Kathryn Krawczyk
