Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweets more than Trump
It's time for President Trump to step down from the Twitter throne.
Trump can easily dominate an entire day's discussions with a tap of the tweet button, and he rarely limits himself to just one post. Yet it turns out that his absurd Twitter frequency actually falls short of political newcomer Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's (D-N.Y.), BuzzFeed News reports in an analysis of the freshman congressmember's social media.
Ocasio-Cortez surprisingly smashed onto the political scene last year as she ousted a longstanding, high-ranking congressmember. Her social media presence has skyrocketed in the months since, with her Twitter following more than quadrupling from around 1 million near Election Day to more than 4 million Friday. She's since kept that following busy, tweeting an average of 12 times per day so far in 2019, BuzzFeed News says. Trump has meanwhile tweeted an average of 11.7 times per day, with some noteworthy 40-tweet days certainly bringing that mean up.

Like Trump, Ocasio-Cortez also makes sure to spread her Twitter influence across platforms. Trump's tweets are often transposed onto quote cards with his photo before they're posted on Instagram, but Ocasio-Cortez sticks to simple screenshots. One Instagram of an @AOC tweet ended up being her third-most liked post of all time, BuzzFeed News notes.
Ocasio-Cortez has also turned into a social media phenomenon across conservative media, though likely not for the most AOC-friendly reasons. Get a thorough breakdown at BuzzFeed News.
