Hamas has reportedly fired more than 150 rockets from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel, the Israeli government said. A retaliatory Israeli air raid on the northern Gaza Strip killed a 22-year-old Palestinian man and wounded four others on Saturday.

Israel's aerial defense system, the Iron Dome, intercepted dozens of the rockets, the Israel Defense Forces announced. There were no immediate reports of Israeli casualties. Israel said it has struck approximately 30 Hamas targets along the Gaza Strip.

Saturday's back-and-forth strikes follow violence on Friday that left two Hamas militants and two other Palestinians dead, while two Israeli soldiers were wounded by sniper fire.
