Marianne Williamson is ready to "see the memes" after leaving the Democratic debate stage and immediately telling a child about her dead cat.

The self-help author spoke to a young reporter after the debate wrapped up on Tuesday night, and he asked a simple question: "Do you have a pet?" Her response was expectedly unexpected.

"I had a cat and the cat died," Williamson told the kid, promoting a moment of awkward silence before the video cuts off.

Williamson gained plenty of online attention during the first Democratic debate in June after railing against the concept of plans and promising to tell the prime minister of New Zealand, "girlfriend, you are so on." Some of Williamson's most memorable moments during round two on Tuesday included saying that President Trump has brought a "dark psychic force" of "collectivized hatred" to the country, as well as a quite well-received answer on slavery reparations.

"Williamson legit outshining most of the candidates on that stage," Vox's Ezra Klein wrote.

So how does Williamson think she did? Asked that question by CNN's Sarah Mucha, she responded: "I'll tell you later when I see the memes." Presumably, after this cat response, she'll have a few more to peruse.
