Elizabeth Warren raised about $10 million more than Joe Biden this fundraising quarter

Sen. Elizabeth Warren's (D-Mass.) fundraising announcement may have come last, but it's certainly not least.

The 2020 Democrat raised $24.6 million in the third fundraising quarter of 2019, her campaign announced Friday. That's a more than $5 million increase from her gain in the previous quarter, and nearly $10 million more than what former Vice President Joe Biden posted in Q3.

After the third fundraising quarter closed earlier this week, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) kicked off an announcement spree by revealing he'd raised $25.3 million, the biggest quarterly haul any Democrat had seen this election cycle. Warren meanwhile celebrated what would've been a recordbreaker if Sanders hadn't gotten there first.

South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg was next in the fundraising line with $19.1 million raised. Tech entrepreneur Andrew Yang impressed by nearly quadrupling his Q2 with $10 million in the third quarter, while Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) reported modest gains of $11.6 million and $6 million, respectively. But it was Biden who reported the biggest disappointment: Despite being the faltering frontrunner in the Democratic primary race, he earned just $15.2 million in Q3, down from the $21.5 million he brought in during his first quarter of the race.
