Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.) on Monday became the 17th House Republican to announce his retirement this election cycle.

The 62-year-old Walden didn't seem concerned about his chances of re-election, and even expressed confidence that the GOP could retake the House, giving him another go as the chair of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Instead, he just was ready to call it a day. "I also know that for me, the time has come to pursue new challenges and opportunities," he said.
