The Batman's rogues gallery of villains just keeps expanding.

Colin Farrell is in talks for the role of the Penguin in Matt Reeves' The Batman, Deadline reports. Warner Bros. is reportedly negotiating with Farrell, who may be the latest to join the film as an iconic Batman antagonist after Paul Dano was added as the Riddler and Zoe Kravitz was cast as Catwoman. Robert Pattinson is set to play Bruce Wayne himself.

Farrell would be taking on the role of the Penguin after Danny DeVito memorably brought him to life in Tim Burton's Batman Returns in 1992. Robin Lord Taylor has also played the character on the Fox series Gotham. At one point, Jonah Hill was in talks to join The Batman either as the Riddler or the Penguin, but he reportedly passed on a role.

At the same time, another major part in the movie has reportedly been cast as well, with Variety reporting Andy Serkis is in talks to join the film as Alfred, Bruce Wayne's butler most recently played by Jeremy Irons in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and previously by Michael Caine in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. The Batman, which sees Pattinson take over the Batman role from Ben Affleck, hits theaters in 2021.
