House overwhelmingly passes USMCA in bipartisan vote

What a different a day makes.

Less than 24 hours after impeaching President Trump, the House came together for an overwhelming vote to pass the U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade agreement. The agreement now heads to the Senate, and will likely eventually earn Trump's approval after Democrats reached a USMCA deal with the White House last week.

The USMCA earned a 385-41 vote of approval, but likely won't see a Senate vote until late January or even February, seeing as the Senate is now gearing up for an impeachment trial. Still, when it gets to Trump, it'll likely go into action. Both Canadian and Mexican officials have signaled their approvals of the deal.

The deal isn't expected to majorly change trade totals from where they stand under NAFTA. It is projected to create about 176,000 jobs in the next six years and put an extra $70 billion into the U.S. GDP.
