Woman shoots herself in face while adjusting bra holster
Former military police officer died in Michigan after having 'trouble' adjusting the gun in her holster
A woman died after accidentally shooting herself in the eye while adjusting her bra holster, according to police in Michigan.
Christina Bond was "having trouble adjusting her bra holster and could not get it to fit the way she wanted it to," said Mark Clapp, head of the police force in the city of St Joseph. "She was looking down at it and accidentally discharged the weapon."
The 55-year old former military police officer served in the US Navy for two years and was recently elected as a Republican precinct delegate, according to the local Kalamazoo Gazette.

Bra holsters are a growing trend among female gun owners in America, Fox News reports. The holsters are designed to be worn attached to the middle of the bra, with the barrel of the gun tucked under the underwire of the bra and the handle sticking out.
The detachable clip allows the gun to be easily drawn by lifting up a shirt and pulling down on the handle, claim manufacturers.
"This technique also presents the attacker with a major distraction while allowing you to access and utilise your firearm," said Flashbang, one of the leading manufacturers of the product.
However, National Rifle Association shooting instructor Diane Danielson warns against them "because of safety issues with carrying [a gun] in that position."
