James Corden's guests on Tuesday's Late Late Show included Ethan Hawke, Anthony Anderson, and Harry Connick Jr., and Corden's questions about working with Denzel Washington led to a discussion about meeting your idol. Hawke was effusive in his praise of Washington, and Anderson very nearly met James Earl Jones, but Connick took the cake describing his first encounter with Frank Sinatra. "I was singing at his 75th birthday party, and I was a kid," he started. Connick said he hadn't planned on meeting Sinatra but after forgetting the words to a song during his performance, he ran up to Sinatra after the show and got in his elevator along with Sinatra's wife and his girlfriend (now wife), Jill Goodacre. The story has an unexpected ending, and to fully appreciate it, it's probably helpful to know that Jill was at the time a Victoria's Secret model. Watch below. Peter Weber
