That general election pivot we've been waiting for? Trump admits it's probably not going to happen.

When Donald Trump promised the GOP he'd shift his tone for the general election, it seems he may not have meant it. On Wednesday night — just days ahead of next week's Republican National Convention in Cleveland — Trump admitted to Fox News' Bret Baier that he probably won't start acting like a more "controlled presidential candidate" once he wins the nomination. "I don't think so. I want to be myself. It got me here," Trump said.

While this admission may be a letdown to some GOP leaders, it's not necessarily a surprise. Though Trump has used a teleprompter in recent months and given notably more measured responses to events, as in the case of the Dallas shooting, he also got into a Twitter fight with a Supreme Court justice and tried to win Pitbull's endorsement with a helicopter ride.
