While the Gal Gadot-led Wonder Woman continues to break records at the box office, a separate movie coming later this year will tell the scandalous story of the comic book icon's genesis.

Annapurna Pictures on Tuesday released the first official trailer for Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, which centers around the life of Harvard psychologist and comic book writer William Marston, the creator of Wonder Woman. The film highlights the love triangle that arose between Marston and his two muses: his wife, Elizabeth, and their shared lover, Olive. Set in the 1940s and based on the real-life events that led to Wonder Woman's creation, Professor Marston and the Wonder Women will explore the interior lives of these three individuals and how Elizabeth and Olive's perspectives on feminism and sexuality came to form the character of Wonder Woman.
