Hollywood star Matt Damon has appeared in the first full trailer for the latest instalment of the Bourne films, titled Jason Bourne.
It's the fifth film in the Bourne franchise and the third by Paul Greengrass, who directed The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum. The movie co-stars Alicia Vikander, Julia Stiles and Tommy Lee Jones.[[{"type":"media","view_mode":"content_original","fid":"93857","attributes":{"class":"media-image"}}]]
It sees Damon return to the titular role after Jeremy Renner took up the lead in the previous instalment as Aaron Cross for The Bourne Legacy.

The film is set several years after Jason Bourne's disappearance at the conclusion of The Bourne Ultimatum (2012) and sees him unexpectedly resurface in a new climate of international political turmoil.
Damon's return to the franchise was unexpected, as he had previously stated that he was finished with the series. "We have ridden that horse as far as we can," he said in an interview for Variety magazine in Cannes in 2007.
Then in 2012 he told Collider that he felt that there wasn't much left for his Jason Bourne character to do. "I think in terms of another one, the story of this guy's search for his identity is over, because he's got all the answers, so there's no way we can trot out the same character". He added that if there were to be another Bourne film, "it would have to be a complete reconfiguration".
Nevertheless the new trailer for Jason Bourne sees Damon's character once again forced to question his identity.
An opening sequence shows Bourne lying on a bed under a slow-turning fan as he turns over his thoughts. His voice-over says: "I know who I am." But his mind returns to his black ops training where he is told that when they are finished with him, he will no longer know who he is.
After a series of violent flashbacks, Bourne says that he remembers everything. But does he? The trailer cuts to Julia Stiles telling Bourne that "remembering everything doesn't mean you know everything".
The action then shifts to CIA headquarters where it hints at the new political climate as an operative announces that the agency has been hacked, and it "could be worse than Snowden". We see Alicia Vikander and Tommy Lee Jones discussing Bourne's whereabouts and why he is back, followed by a series of dramatic action sequences involving Bourne. Is he after the CIA or something else?
The trailer winds up with Tommy Lee Jones telling Bourne: "You're never going to find any peace, not until you admit to yourself who you really are."
We also see aspects of the old Jason Bourne as he knocks a man to the ground with one punch and the camera closes in on his face to reveal an expression of uncertainty.
Is this more of the same, or a new twist on the story? Fans will have to wait until 29 July when Jason Bourne is set to be released in cinemas.
