The Piaget Polo S: A new watch for a new era
The latest all-steel incarnation of the Swiss brand's classic timepiece is set to become a staple for the next generation of game-changers
The original Piaget Polo watch in 1979 epitomised the aesthetic of the international jet-set of the time. Made from gold with an integrated bracelet, its success is testament to how Piaget has been a barometer of high-end style across the decades.
This statement continues to hold just as true today. The Swiss watchmaker's new take on an elegant sports watch – the Polo S – reflects changing tastes and marks a fresh approach for a brand that is renowned for the very finest in high jewellery and watchmaking. Available solely in steel, the timepieces may be a departure from the precious metals used across Piaget's other collections, but the same dedication to precise, quality timekeeping and attention to detail remains evident throughout.
The design is based around Piaget's trademark "shape-within-a-shape" and sees a cushion-shaped dial nestled within a round case. Flip the watch over and you can watch the automatic movement, specifically developed for the Polo S, at work through the sapphire crystal case-back.

A classic and pared-down version is equipped with the 1110P movement featuring a date function at 6 o'clock and comes with a choice of slate-grey, blue or silvered dial. The latter two colour options are also available in a slightly sportier model that houses the 1160P movement, incorporating a chronograph.
To herald its new direction, Piaget has announced nine ambassadors who each epitomise the term "game changer". Assembled from around the world, they range from entrepreneurs to chefs and musicians and include names such as Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds and British polo player Malcolm Borwick. This diverse cast of characters is as versatile as the Polo S itself – a watch that would look just as at home on the field as on the red carpet.
The Piaget Polo S is priced at £8,650 for date version and £11,500 for the chronograph model; piaget.com
