How to increase the volume on your iPhone

Hidden setting gives headphones a volume boost

The iPhone's volume or lack thereof has been a long-standing complaint from users of Apple's flagship device.

At the heart of the problem is the fact that the phone's maximum volume "just isn't that loud," says the Daily Mirror. Of course there are devices that can amplify your music, such as a bluetooth speaker or even by sticking your phone in a pint glass or Pringles tube.

But now, users online have found a neat trick to boost the sound coming out of the iPhone's speakers.

By choosing, "Settings" then "Music" and then scrolling down to EQ (which stands for equaliser) and finally selecting "Late Night" users will notice an immediate boost in volume.

The setting works by compressing the dynamic range of the track, "so loud sounds are toned down and quiet parts are turned up" says the Mirror.

Be warned though, the feature does affect everything on the iPhone so the lock noise and even your ringtone will be louder.
