Ferrari has unveiled an even more extreme version of its track-only, LaFerrari-based FXX K hypercar.
The Italian carmaker says that the “extremely limited-run” FXX K Evo is both lighter and more aerodynamic than its predecessor, thanks to the use of carbon-fibre component “crafting” processes.
New additions the car’s complex bodywork include revised front and rear bumpers, reports Autocar, along with a host of “turning vanes” positioned on the front wheel arches. There’s also a fixed-rear wing that works in tandem with the electronic air brake (the latter of which is a carry-over from the base car).

This results in a 23% increase in downforce over the standard FXX K, says the magazine, and a 75% improvement over the LaFerrari road car - with the Evo generating 640kg at 124mph.
Ferrari has tweaked the hypercar’s suspension to cope with the increase in downforce, Top Gear says, while the naturally aspirated V12 engine is the same as the standard FXX K and deliveres 1,036bhp to the rear axle.
Inside, the FXX K Evo has been fitted with “a new steering wheel and larger 6.5in rear video screen with telemetry”, the website says.
But the hypercar cannot be legally driven on public roads and is not homologated to compete in any current racing series, reports Jalopnik. Members of Ferrari’s exclusive XX or Corse Clienti programmes will be invited to purchase an FXX K Evo, and will only be able to use it in events organised by the car firm.
Owners of the regular FXX K can also upgrade to the Evo package, the site says. No information has been given about production numbers or pricing.
