First World War composite photos bring past to life
Then-and-now images put snapshots of the Great War in a 21st century setting
It is more than a century since the First World War, but clever use of modern technology is bringing snapshots from the gruelling conflict into the present day.
Using modern photo-editing technology, artists and photographers have combined past and present images to create a stunning representation which merges First World War images with their 21st century setting.
German prisoners of war shuffle through Southend-on-Sea alongside modern holidaymakers, parading troops merge with commuters in London and convalescing soldiers play football in the grounds of a stately home where families now visit with their children.
