A small crotchet doll of Bernie Sanders has sold for $23,000 (£16,823) online. The doll, a tribute to the inauguration day photo of the veteran Vermont senator hunched over and wearing chunky knitted mittens, was made by Tobey King in Texas. Commenting on the price-tag, she said: “It’s mind-blowing.” King has donated the money to Meals on Wheels America.
