Mother cleans bathroom with son's toothbrush

A Pennsylvania woman has been cited for harassment for using her son’s toothbrush to clean the bathroom. Justin Novack, 26, of Allentown, called police to complain that his mother, Deborah Woist, had put fecal matter on his toothbrush. When officers confronted Woist with her son’s allegations, police said, she explained that the bathroom had not been cleaned in two months, “so she cleaned it for her son using his toothbrush, which she put back in the holder for his use.”

New treatment facility keeps alcoholics slightly buzzed

A new treatment facility for alcoholics in the Netherlands is breaking new ground by serving alcohol to its patients. The patients are all longtime, homeless binge drinkers; rather than try to convince them to stop altogether, the clinic allows them to order a slow but steady supply of beer all day. The alcoholics are required to wait an hour between each half-liter serving. Keeping the patients just slightly buzzed makes them more agreeable, said Pieter Pujik, the clinic’s team leader. “Their heads are clearer and we can work with them.”
