Nicolas Sarkozy, who has long envied Air Force One, but now has his own presidential plane. The $239 million Airbus has a full bedroom, an air filter system so Sarkozy can smoke cigars, and a wingspan 2 feet longer than that of President Obama’s plane.
Bad week for:
Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle, after a review of their 1961 season with the Yankees revealed they were credited with an extra RBI and run scored, respectively. The records were updated, causing each to lose his league title that season in those categories.
Solidarity, after singer Elton John mocked musicians who are showing support for Hispanics by boycotting Arizona over its immigration law. “I still play in California, and as a gay man I have no legal rights whatsoever,’’ he said at a concert in Tucson. “So what’s the f--- up with these people?”

The Miami Heat’s ticket-sales department, which sold out every seat for the entire season after the signing of star players Lebron James and Chris Bosh. The team then fired the 30-person department, saying they were no longer needed. “We thank those employees for their time with the company,” said the team.
