Good day for: Freebies, as Google is offering links to free music downloads to users -- who happen to live in China. Google’s largesse is part of an effort to attract new customers in China, a fast-growing market and one of the few in which Google lags. (The New York Times)
Bad day for: Playing hard to get, as Chrysler announced plans to form an alliance with Fiat, an hour after President Obama said only a major overhaul would save American automakers, and a day after GM‘s leader, Rick Wagoner, stepped down at Obama‘s urging. The companies said the deal met federal government terms necessary to qualify for another $6 billion in bailout money. (Los Angeles Times)
