England rise to No.1 spot in the ICC ODI world rankings
Eoin Morgan’s side overtake India as the best team in one-day international cricket
England are the new No.1 team in the International Cricket Council’s one-day international (ODI) world rankings.
Released by the ICC this morning, the annual update sees England move into top spot ahead of India.
Eoin Morgan’s England side had previously been No.1 in January 2013 but after a successful winter tour they gained eight points to reach 125 points, three ahead of India who are down by one point.

England’s winter tour saw them win ODI series against Australia and New Zealand. The Three Lions have now won all of their six most recent ODI series and nine out of their last ten under Morgan’s captaincy.
The ICC rankings see South Africa drop to third with New Zealand in fourth and Australia in fifth.
Next year England host the 2019 ICC World Cup and this summer’s fixture list includes one-day matches against Scotland, Australia and India.
