Man Utd transfer news: £170m Old Trafford deal is on, says Neymar
28 April
Unable to keep his mouth shut, Barcelona star Neymar has let slip to his friends that Manchester United are "willing to spend almost £170m to land him this summer". The Sun says that the career-threatening knee injury Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered last week has caused alarm at Old Trafford and Jose Mourinho’s "transfer plans have been altered" as a result.
Knowing that he needs a proven goal-scorer, the Special One has identified Neymar as his go-to man and he's persuaded the United board to "pay his huge wage demands and his buy-out clause". The 25-year-old South American sharpshooter penned a new five-year contract with the Catalan giants earlier in the season, but with a football contract thinner than Wayne Rooney's thatch, it's expected United could prise Neymar from the Camp Nou.

The fact that he's also encountered some income tax obstacles in Spain is another factor why United believe they could lure Neymar to Old Trafford, not to mention the fact that there are rumours Neymar "would prefer to be the centre-piece of an attack, rather than play third fiddle to Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez"
Man Utd transfer news: Willian set for £32m Chelsea exit
27 April
"Sensational" is the word used by The Sun to describe Jose Mourinho's plan to pounce for Chelsea forward Willian this summer.
The 28-year-old Brazilian was a member of the Chelsea squad when the Special One was in charge and the Sun says that the Portuguese preener will move in for Willian once again, backed by the knowledge that the player is unhappy with his status at Stamford Bridge, where he spends most of his time warming the bench.
Willian has been a victim of Antonio Conte's decision to field a 3-4-3 system since the early autumn. That tactical switch cost him his place in the starting line-up and now he is weighing up his options.
Mourinho believes the Brazilian offers the perfect combination of "experience, speed and threat in front of goal". But it will cost the United gaffer, warns the Sun, with the paper predicting that the Blues will demand every penny of the £32m that they paid for Willian in 2013.
And who else could be joining Willian at Old Trafford next season? Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, says Talksport, with the broadcaster claiming that the Blues are "putting the wheels in motion" for a summer swoop.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney too injured and too old, Jose Mourinho "has prioritised signing a new frontman" at the end of the season and Talksport says that contrary to recent rumours, the United manager would prefer to move for Morata rather than Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann. The 24-year-old Spain international has been unable to dislodge Karim Benzema from the starting-line at the Bernabeu and "he is ready to leave" provided his wage demands are met.
Finally, the Daily Star says that United have been dealt a "massive blow" in their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos. Apparently Inter Milan are "plotting a raid" for the Brazilian defender, who is reportedly on Mourinho's summer shopping lis
Man Utd transfer news: James Rodriguez to sign from Real Madrid
26 April
Jose Mourinho's good working relationship with super-agent Jorge Mendes helped him win the race to sign Real Madrid ace James Rodriguez, reports the Daily Express.
The paper claims that United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool had all been in hot pursuit of the South American sorcerer this season but it's the Red Devils who have tempted him into leaving the Spanish capital.
The Colombian has failed to secure a regular spot in Zinedine Zidane's side this season at the Bernabeu and it's always been considered a question of when and not if he would leave Madrid. The Express, citing Spanish publication Don Balon, says Rodriguez has now "decided on a move to Old Trafford", a decision made in conjunction with Mendes, and it's believed the deal will be finalised within the coming days.
There is goalkeeping gossip aplenty at Old Trafford right now with Metro reporting that United have been given a boost in their chase for Gianluigi Donnarumma.
According to Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport, the 18-year-old gloveman is "struggling to agree a new contract with AC Milan", and that has increased speculation that he could be brought to Manchester as a replacement for David de Gea, widely expected to sign for Real Madrid this summer.
Or is he? Caughtoffside claims that in fact United are increasingly confident they will persuade De Gea to remain loyal by offering him a "big-money new contract". The former Atletico Madrid man has long been linked with a move back to the Spanish capital, but Caughtoffside reckons United will buy his fidelity with a financial package that will see his weekly wages bumped up to £200,000.
Man Utd transfer news: £84m Griezmann deal has been agreed
Have Manchester United finally got their man? Yes, claims the Daily Mirror with the paper reporting that the Red Devils and Antoine Griezmann have "come to an agreement" over a summer transfer.
The French frontman has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford and, according to the Mirror, United have met Atletico Madrid's buyout clause of £84m, nipping in ahead of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, who have also been tailing the Gallic goalscorer.
The Mirror claims that Griezmann "doesn't want to leave Atletico Madrid" but it seems the Spanish club have decided to cash in on their most valuable asset, and the move will be finalised before the end of the season with the Frenchman seen by Jose Mourinho as the ideal replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Daily Express says that the 35-year-old Swedish striker, who suffered a serious knee injury last week, "has accepted his Manchester United playing days are over" and is now looking to negotiate a move to America's MLS next year once he's recovered.
And Griezmann isn't the only forward catching the eye at Old Trafford these days, Jose Mourinho sent his spies to Turkey at the weekend to observe how Bruma got on for Galatasaray, reports Talksport. Described by the broadcaster as a "rising star", the 22-year-old attacking midfielder has earned high praise this season and Tottenham, Valencia and several Italian clubs are also believed to be on his tail.
United scouts were reportedly impressed with what they saw of Bruma as the Portuguese playmaker strutted his stuff against Fenerbache on Sunday evening. With just over a year left on his contract, Bruma is weighing up his options and the Turkish media report that Galatasaray could be tempted to sell in the summer rather than let him leave on a free transfer at the end of next season.
Finally, the Daily Express says that French firecracker Blaise Matuidi has stoked rumours that he could be swapping Paris for Manchester next season after allegedly rejecting a new deal from PSG. The veteran 30-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked this month with a move to Old Trafford this month and he seemed to reluctant to quash the rumours in conversation with French broadcaster Canal Plus, says the Express.
Asked if he was prepared to commit himself to Paris Saint-Germain, Matuidi said: "Staying with PSG is a possibility. Is it set in stone? No. I am focused on the end of the season."
Man Utd transfer news: Mourinho 'targets PSG playmaker Blaise Matuidi'
21 April
Paris Saint-Germain's Blaise Matuidi is the latest fiery Frenchman to be linked to Manchester United, with The Sun reporting he "is set to leave the Ligue 1 giants" at the end of the season.
That's causing great excitement at both Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has long been an admirer of the France international.
It was only 24 hours ago that United were said to be circling Matuidi's PSG teammate Serge Aurier, but now it seems it's the 30-year-old midfielder in the mix.
According to the Sun, manager Jose Mourinho is "leading the race to lure [Matuidi] away from Parc des Princes". His agent Mino Raiola is well known in Old Trafford and a man with whom Mourinho has worked in the past.
French media sources claim the playmaker felt "insulted" by the new deal proposed to him by PSG, which would see his salary halved, and that's why he is considering his future. Manchester United are favourites to sign him for "a mere £12million".
But one player who is set to slip through United's fingers is Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier. It was suggested earlier this month that Mourinho was ready to table a £40m offer for the 23-year-old, after falling under the England international's spell.
However, according to Sky Sports, Tottenham "have no intention of selling" and see him very much as part of their long-term plans.
