Man Utd transfer news: Mourinho drops £173m Neymar bombshell
28 March
As bombshells go they don't come much bigger than Talksport's claim that United "are ready to break the bank again this summer" with a £173m move for Neymar.
Last season the Red Devils pushed out the boat to sign Paul Pogba, but unfortunately the French playmaker has failed to inspire United to the Premier League crown. So the club are ready to empty their bank account in order to snap up the Barcelona superstar.

Taking Spanish rag Sport as its source, Talksport claims that Jose Mourinho is desperate to bring the Brazilian forward to Old Trafford and he is even "willing to pay his €200m release clause". Crucially he also has the backing of the United top brass, who support Mourinho in his quest to snare Neymar.
Barcelona are said to be rattled by the news, particularly as their English rivals "have put a £416,000-a-week contract offer on the table".
The Catalan club recently rejected advances by Chelsea for the South American sharpshooter and their only glimmer of hope is that Neymar will dismiss United's offer out of hand if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League. Understandably he doesn't much fancy the prospect of spending his Thursday evenings playing in the Europa League.
Man Utd transfer news: Mourinho 'will pay any price for James Rodriguez'
27 March
Struggling Real Madrid star James Rodriguez could be coming to Old Trafford - but only if United are "willing to shell out £60m".
That's the claim made in the Manchester Evening News, which says the Colombian playmaker, who has failed to nail down a starting spot under Zinedine Zidane, is "keen on a move away from the Bernabeu this summer".
It reports that Spanish outlet Don Balon is claiming United gaffer Jose Mourinho is ready to meet whatever price Madrid put on Rodriguez's head, such is his desire to bring the 25-year-old to Old Trafford.
However, the MEN warns the Special One that Bayern Munich and PSG are also tailing the South American and will "provide stiff competition for his signature".
The paper also reports that AC Milan gloveman Gianluigi Donnarumma looks to have eluded Mourinho's grasp.
The 18-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs in recent months, but AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi had this message for all his suitors: "Gigio is one of Milan's jewels. He's a gorgeous product of our youth system, he feels strong attachment in his heart to the jersey and... for us, he's completely off the market."
Meanwhile, the Daily Express reports that United will have to see off Liverpool if they want to sign Luan in the summer.
The Brazilian marksman, currently playing for Gremio, comes with a £30m price tag and according to reports from South America, the two Premier League clubs are keen to bring the 23-year-old to England next season.
Luan has come under attack from fans who are unhappy at the rumours he could be leaving them soon for more lucrative pastures. But club vice president Alberto Guerra admitted that if a big-money offer lands on their table, they won't dismiss it out of hand.
"Every good player is targeted," he said. "If a proposal arrives, we will analyse it."
Man Utd transfer news: Antoine Griezmann could leave Atletico Madrid
24 March
Diego Simeone will not stand in his star player's way if he quits this summer - latest Man Utd transfer news and gossip
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has given the clearest indication yet that Antoine Griezmann could leave the club in the summer, with United once again installed as favourites to sign him.
Simeone had been linked with a move from the Spanish capital at the end of the season but although he now seems set to stay at the club, the same can't be said of the French frontman.
United are desperate to land Griezmann with The Times reporting that Jose Mourinho has identified him as the perfect partner for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The 26-year-old, who has scored 22 goals for Atletico Madrid this season, has four years to run on his existing deal. But in conversation with Spanish rag AS, Simeone admitted the club would be powerless to stop Griezmann leaving the club if his £85m release clause was activated.
"Yes," replied Simeone, when asked if he feared Griezmann might leave. "There is a release clause and there are no guarantees. From here on in, I don't know what can happen. I spoke to him in the summer, we spoke a lot and he stayed. He told me that he would stay if I stayed. He then spoke to his agents to sign the [contract] documents."
Asked if he might pressurise the French striker into staying in Madrid, the Atletico gaffer said: "Griezmann would never allow me to demand of him to stay. I didn't do it with [Diego] Costa and with [Radamel] Falcao. The players that have given me their lives, I obviously accompany them in the decisions that they take."
Meanwhile if United fail in their bid to land Griezmann might they welcome back Javier Hernandez? That's what website Caughtoffside claims, saying that the Mexican marksman is hopeful he can return to Old Trafford, two years after being sold by Dutch disaster Louis van Gaal. Currently with German outfit Bayer Leverkusen, Hernandez was never fully appreciated during his time with United, despite scoring 59 goals in 112 appearances. But rumours have been growing in recent days that Hernandez is interested in a second spell with the club now that Jose Mourinho is manager.

Man Utd transfer news: £30m for Rudiger, Mbappe bid fails

German defender wants to leave Roma and play in England - all the latest Man United transfer news and gossip
There were spies in Dortmund last night watching as Germany and England locked horns in a meaningless friendly, and according to Metro they were there for one reason only - to monitor Antonio Rudiger.
The paper claims the centre-back has been identified by Chelsea and Manchester United as a summer target, and the 24-year-old defender is apparently "desperate" to leave Roma after being subjected to racial abuse in cup match against Lazio earlier this month.
Chelsea were linked with Rudiger 12 months ago before Antonio Conte arrived, but United's defensive fragility this season had prompted Jose Mourinho to zero in on the German blocker as well.
If the United boss wants to beat Chelsea to the prize, Metro says it will cost him in the region of £30m to land Rudiger. Personal terms shouldn't be too hard to agree with the defender saying recently that "my dream is to play in England one day".
Meanwhile the Daily Mirror says that United "have had a £69m bid rejected for Monaco starlet Kylian Mbappe". The teenage sensation is one of Europe's hottest properties this season after his exploits helped the French club into the Champions League quarter-finals. Apparently United tabled their offer in the hope of bringing him to Old Trafford but they've been told that Mbappe will be staying in Monaco for the foreseeable future.
Man Utd transfer news: Barcelona favourites in Griezmann race
22 March
Manchester United fans may have to settle for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as their big singing this summer, says The Sun, after Barcelona joined the chase for Antoine Griezmann.
Apparently Jose Mourinho is lining up a swoop for the disgruntled Gunner as it looks increasingly unlikely that he'll get his hands on the French frontman at the end of the season.
According to the Sun Barcelona are ready to "spend £90m" on French superstar Griezmann with Paulo Dybala of Juventus as their Plan B. The only possible stumbling block regarding the deal for Griezmann is that Atletico Madrid may baulk at selling him to a La Liga rival, preferring instead to flog him to the Red Devils. The Frenchman, though, has made it clear he enjoys life in Spain and has gone on the record to say that he is not a fan of the weather in northern England.
Spanish rag Mundo Deportivo claims that with coach Luis Enrique leaving the Camp Nou in a matter of weeks, the Catalan club are confident of a deal that would see Griezmann become a key part of a rebuilding programme.
Back at Old Trafford, the other player on Mourinho's wishlist this summer, says the Daily Star, is Chelsea ace Willian. The paper reports that the Special One "tried to sign the Brazilian winger last summer" but failed to lure him from Stamford Bridge. Shaken but not stirred, Mourinho will have another crack in a few weeks as he looks to fill the void left by Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney, both of whom are "certain to leave Old Trafford" this summer.

Man Utd transfer news: Nelson Semedo deal under threat
21 March
Jose Mourinho has a fight on his hands if he wishes to land Benfica star Nelson Semedo in the summer, says the Daily Express, which claims that Juventus and AC Milan "have joined the hunt for his services".
Earlier in the year it was rumoured that United had seen off competition from Barcelona and agreed in principle a £35m deal for the 23-year-old defender, and it was even reported that the club’s president, Luis Filipe Vieira, had flown into England to discuss a deal for Semedo and of Benfica team-mate Ederson.
But the Express, taking its cue from Portuguese paper O Jogo, says that the two Italian clubs remain hot on the tail of Semedo with Juventus particularly determined as they look to find a replacement for Dani Alves, who is expected to leave Turin at the end of the season.
Meanwhile Man United misfit Bastian Schweinsteiger "set for the Old Trafford exit after agreeing a move to Chicago Fire", reports the Daily Mirror.
Despite being banished to the periphery of the squad, the German remained a fan favourite and in announcing his departure gave "special thanks" to the supporters.
The 32-year-old World Cup winner was signed by Louis van Gaal in 2015 and helped United win the FA Cup last season, but has barely featured under Mourinho.
