Who is Man Utd top transfer target - Kane, Morata or Bale?

Forget Cristiano Ronaldo, the first name on Jose Mourinho's summer shopping list is actually Harry Kane, says the Daily Mirror. Apparently all the rumours last week linking the Portuguese preener to Old Trafford were just the figments of an over-heated imagination and in fact it's Kane who is in the sights of the United manager.

The Mirror says that Mourinho has "urged his employers to make Tottenham an offer they can't refuse" because he believes that Kane is the man to lead the United frontline for the next decade.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic shown the door and Wayne Rooney set to follow him through the exit, the Red Devils are in desperate need of a goalscorer and Mourinho wants Kane to fulfil that role. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has long laughed off the idea of ever selling Kane but the Mirror says that United are ready to offer "a mind-blowing offer" of £100m to Spurs, a sum that Levy would find hard to resist.

More realistically, the Mirror adds that Mourinho is still keen on Real Madrid's unwanted striker Alvaro Morata, which is also the view of Metro. It states that United "will hold further talks" with Real this week in the hope of finalising a deal. For that to happen the two clubs will have to reach an agreement over the fee with Metro claiming that the European champions are refusing to budge on their £70m asking price.

United have tabled a £60m bid but it's believed they are ready to come in higher with a second bid before the end of the month.

The Manchester Evening News, however, says that the Real Madrid man that United really want is neither Morata nor Ronaldo, but Gareth Bale. What's more, the MEN says the club has "been given fresh hope in the pursuit" with the European champions ready to sell the Welshman in order to make room for Monaco star Kylian Mbappe.

Spanish rag AS says that the teenage sensation is edging closer to a mammoth move to the Bernabeu but to fund it they'll first have to offload Bale.
