Doctors say a woman began lactating from her armpit soon after giving birth. The medics say they discovered a “round, firm” mass which “released a white discharge when pressed” according to a new report in the New England Journal of Medicine. The discharge was later discovered to be breast milk. The mother was diagnosed with a condition in which “accessory breast tissue develops along the former embryonic mammary ridge”.
Waterworld planet may harbour aliens
A “waterworld” located just 35 light-years from Earth could have aliens, according to a new study. The international team behind the research says the discovery is an important step in the quest to find extraterrestrial life. Co-author Professor Maria Osorio, of the Centre for Astrobiology in Madrid, said: “The planet in the habitable zone may have an atmosphere that could protect and support life.”

Powerlifter sets world record at 99 years of age
Edith Murway-Traina has been named as the world’s oldest competitive powerlifter (female) at the age of 99. The great-great-grandmother has entered the Guinness World Records by lifting weights of up to 68kg. She began lifting at the age of 91, saying: “I found that I was enjoying it, and I was challenging myself to get a little bit better and a little bit better.”
