Woman lactates from armpit after giving birth
And other stories from the stranger side of life
Doctors say a woman began lactating from her armpit soon after giving birth. The medics say they discovered a “round, firm” mass which “released a white discharge when pressed” according to a new report in the New England Journal of Medicine. The discharge was later discovered to be breast milk. The mother was diagnosed with a condition in which “accessory breast tissue develops along the former embryonic mammary ridge”.
Waterworld planet may harbour aliens

The international team behind the research says the discovery is an important step in the quest to find extraterrestrial life. Co-author Professor Maria Osorio, of the Centre for Astrobiology in Madrid, said: “The planet in the habitable zone may have an atmosphere that could protect and support life.”
