Farmers in Rome sleep in cars to protect sheep

Farmers on the outskirts of Rome are sleeping in cars by their sheep to protect them against packs of wolves, according to The Times. Three packs of wolves are preying on sheep in the Veio park, near Rome’s northern suburbs. “I have lost 50 sheep to wolf attacks and they are prowling around during the day, showing they are getting bolder,” Massimiliano Cesari told the paper. He added that when his sheep’s bells ring because a wolf has scared them he turns his headlights on and starts yelling in an effort to protect his flock.

Dyson announces new gadget

Dyson has announced a wearable air purifier with a pair of noise-cancelling headphones built in. The product, called the Zone, uses a visor to channel “a continuous stream of purified air to your nose and mouth, without touching your face”, according to the company. However, some early reviewers have complained that despite the music and the noise-cancelling technology, the “whirring of the air purification units is still audible”, Sky News reported.

First Loch Ness sighting of 2022

Thee first official Loch Ness monster sighting of 2022 has been recorded after a veteran spotter claimed to have spotted “two objects moving parallel to each other” across the water. Eoin O’Faodhagain was watching the webcam live stream when he spied the two objects. Responding to sceptics, he said: “The more northerly object takes a sharp turn to the left leaving an unusual wake, you would have to rule out a log or debris, and it is not consistent of a seal to react in such a manner.”
