Doctors in Italy have said they performed delicate brain surgery during which “the patient remained awake and playing the saxophone”, reported UPI. Paideia International Hospital in Rome said the 35-year-old patient was kept awake and played his saxophone during the nine-hour operation to remove a brain tumour. The medics said the musical performance allowed the surgeons to map the different functions of his brain as they operated.
