The King has told a kebab shop owner that the “secret” to a good kebab is that “it’s all in the sauce”, reported The Telegraph. During a visit to a charity aiding in the relief efforts of the Turkey-Syria earthquake, he visited a west London restaurant co-owned by one of the senior members of the charity. The monarch, who was filmed shaking hands with chefs, asked the restaurant owner what his “secret ingredient” is and enquired about “how far back the tradition goes” for the famous dish.
Harold Shipman life insurance ads banned
A series of ads for a life insurance firm that joked about serial killer Harold Shipman have been banned for “causing serious and widespread offence and distress”, said The Independent. The social media ads for DeadHappy, featured images of Shipman and the text: “Life insurance… Because you never know who your doctor might be.” In a statement, DeadHappy founder Andy Knott said: “We are sorry. In our attempt to be provocative and make people really stop and think about their need for life insurance, we have made a mistake and for this we apologise.”
Man who stole 200,000 Creme Eggs convicted
A man who stole 200,000 Cadbury Creme Eggs, has been convicted in court. Joby Pool was “surrounded by a mountain of the foil-wrapped chocolate” when police caught up with him at the weekend, said the BBC. “Recognising he was foiled too”, he surrendered to officers with his hands up, the court heard. Officers from West Mercia Police have congratulated themselves for “saving Easter” after recovering almost 200,000 stolen chocolate eggs.
