David de Gea 'to leave Man Utd' after run-in with van Gaal

Is David de Gea going to hang up his goalkeeping gloves at Old Trafford? And might the Manchester United star not be the only one out of the door in the summer? Transfer Talk delves into the Red Devils' rumours.

• Is David de Gea's relationship with Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal "broken"? Yes, claims Talksport, which says strained relations between the pair will lead the Spanish goalkeeper to "move to Real Madrid this summer". Citing Spanish newspaper AS as its source, Talksport adds that the Champions League holders will meet the 24-year-old's ￡25 million buyout clause at the end of the season. United are reportedly desperate to keep hold of the gloveman and are ready to up his wages to ￡100,000 a week – but the alleged falling-out with Van Gaal means that his future belongs at the Bernabeu.

• Meanwhile Metro states that United also "face the prospect of losing starlet Andreas Pereira" in May with the 19-year-old being eyed up by Juventus. Three years ago the Red Devils saw a callow Paul Pogba tread the same path to Turin, to subsequently develop into one of Europe's top talents, and Metro claims Pereira is now considering taking the same route. The Belgium-born Brazil under-20 international has made just one senior appearance for United since signing from PSV Eindhoven in 2012, and in an interview with Italian newspaper Tuttosport he said: "Everyone knows that Juve are a great club…I have spoken with Pogba many times, he is a good friend and he told me that I would be well served in moving to Turin, both personally and professionally, two important things for me." Pressed on where his future may lie Pereira, whose Old Trafford contract expires in June, said: "My agent is evaluating the offers that have arrived, including that of Juventus...but I have not taken a decision yet.

• As we reported on Wednesday, Cagliari sensation Godfred Donsah is being eyed up by a posse of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City, but it seems the Ghanaian goal-getter has his own preference. The Daily Star reports that Donsah – who joined Cagliari in 2014 – was asked by Sky Italia if he was aware the Sky Blues were on his tail. "Of course, I am happy," Donsah replied. "But I feel good at Cagliari and we are doing very well for the moment."

• German rag Bild says that the future of Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira continues to throw up conundrums following the announcement that the Spanish club won't be renewing his contract at the end of the season. Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have all been linked with Khedira in recent months but according to Bild Schalke 04 "have entered the race" for the 27-year-old playmaker and they are quietly confident of winning after suggestions Bayern Munich and Arsenal have gone cold on Khedira because of concerns over his fitness.
