Luka Modric: Real Madrid to Tottenham
Tottenham are lining up a “sensational” bid to bring Luka Modric back to the club from Real Madrid.
The midfielder left Spurs for Real in 2012 and has won four Champions League titles in his six seasons at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 32-year-old is currently captaining Croatia at the World Cup in Russia and Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has earmarked him as a “priority target”.
According to reports in Spain, Modric’s return to Tottenham could happen because Real have lined up Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara as a replacement. (Daily Express via Don Balon)
Loftus-Cheek tells Chelsea: I need to play
England midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has warned Chelsea that he will leave the club if he’s not given a bigger role next season. The 22-year-old, who came on for England in the 2-1 win against Tunisia, spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace but will return to Chelsea after the World Cup.
Loftus-Cheek said: “That’s the key for me next season regarding where I end up: I want to play. I want to play as much as I can. And even this past season I didn’t play as much as I would have liked, because of the injuries and stuff, so I still feel I need a proper season of playing, wherever it is.” (The Guardian)
Jerome Boateng: Bayern Munich to Manchester United
German champions Bayern Munich will allow defender Jerome Boateng to leave for £50m. The German international is a target for Manchester United and Italian side Juventus are also “monitoring his situation”. Boateng previously played in the Premier League for Manchester City. Lucas Torreira: Sampdoria to Arsenal
Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has confirmed that Lucas Torreira will leave the Italian club. The 22-year-old Uruguayan midfielder has been linked with a move to Arsenal and Ferrero said: “Torreira’s gone for €30m [£26m]. The money we’re earning is necessary to increase our club’s capital.” (Daily Mail)
Klopp targets Tarkowski and Lascelles
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to bolster the centre of his side’s defence and is lining up moves for Burnley’s James Tarkowski and Newcastle’s Jamaal Lascelles. (The Guardian)
Jack Grealish: Aston Villa to Liverpool/Tottenham
Liverpool have also entered the race to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa. The midfielder has been linked with Tottenham but the London club are haggling with Villa over the fee. Spurs want to pay £20m for the 22-year-old but Villa want £40m. (The Sun)
Davide Zappacosta: Chelsea to Inter Milan
Serie A side Inter Milan are keen on a loan deal for Chelsea defender Davide Zappacosta. The 26-year-old Italian joined Chelsea from Torino last summer but has struggled to cement his spot in the first-team. (Daily Mail)
Jorginho: Napoli to Manchester City
City have agreed an initial £43.1m deal with Napoli to sign Jorginho. The midfielder has long been linked with the Premier League champions. (The Daily Telegraph)
