Man City transfer news: Paulo Dybala, Leroy Sane, Phil Foden
Juventus swap deal rumoured and the ‘Stockport Iniesta’ is set for new deal
Sane swap deal?
The Manchester Evening News (MEN) claims that City have “discussed the possibility of selling Leroy Sane to Juventus” but only on the condition they take a big player in return.
According to the MEN, who cite Italian outlet CalcioMercato as their source, the player that Manchester City have in mind is Paulo Dybala.

The 24-year-old, who has been linked with a move to the Etihad in the past, apparently feels undermined by Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival at Juventus and is yet to score in Serie A this season. The MEN say the Italian champions are “open to selling the Argentinian if they believe they are offered a fair price”.
City and the ‘Stockport Iniesta’
The man they’re calling the “Stockport Iniesta” is set to sit down with City bosses to discuss his glittering future.
According to the Daily Mail, Phil Foden will shortly negotiate the terms of “a new long-term contract” as the Sky Blues look to tie down the teenager to the Etihad amid interest from Premier League rivals.
Foden is one of the most exciting young English players to emerge this decade, and on Tuesday the 18-year-old scored his first goal for the club in the Carabao Cup third-round win at Oxford United.
The Mail says that City boss Pep Guardiola is “impressed by Foden’s application this season and has vowed to give the central midfielder plenty of game time”. That will be music to the ears of Foden, who supported City as a boy and first came to prominence in the summer friendlies.
A different planet
His current contract expires in 2020 and the Mail says that City will offer the England Under-19 international a deal taking him “well into his 20s”.
Told about his “Stockport Iniesta” tag, Foden laughed and said: “I’m happy with that but come on - Iniesta is on a different planet!”
Adding that game time isn’t that much of a priority at the moment because he learns so much from the likes of David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne, he said: “I’ll just keep getting these cup games and runouts whenever I can and hopefully I can start a lot more games one day. There’s no need to rush.”
